Nasty Critters
Use for encounters w/ the slimy, poisonous, savage, brutal and rotund. There are only two safe ways to end the table: Kings and Aces.

Q&D Animal Dangers
Animal King: Somehow you believe you can capture and tame this creature, recover a living specimen for the kingís private reserve. Subdue the beast (queen) and be done with it. Success here and the animal encounter ends. Difficulty: 5 Advantage: Gentry
Animal Queen: Creature is using stealth or camouflage to gain his own pounce or grand swarm. Avoid the vicious wound. Optional, increase Difficulty by five for the victory. Regardless, the difficulty of all rolls in the continuing action are increased by two. Difficulty: 8 Advantage: Spy
Animal Knight: Foe must be demonic; it has survived more stabs and shots than any earthly threat. This time, perhaps aim. Fail and fall with a vicious wound. If the player character is not trait Lordly, difficulty increases by four. Difficulty: 9 Advantage: *Tenacious Pistol Fire
Animal Knave: Find yourself momentarily all alone, and the creature has the drop on you. Bad fortune has befallen the character. You fall unconscious and will be slowly drained of blood. If the creature is not slain by the time your turn comes around again, you suffer vicious. Continue w/ Digressions if the battle is not won.
Animal Ten: Panic, using a friend to shield and buffer himself from harm. Tumble, tangle, swallow water, hyperventilate. Fail and knocked unconscious. If the encounter features Bugs, Difficulty increases by four. Select one other player as your shield; that character increases all Difficulty rolls by two. Difficulty: 5 Advantage: Stout
Animal Nine: Pursue the cries of minions, startled by the creatures. Optional, success here and the animal encounter ends. However, a failed roll results in knocked unconscious. If the player character is not a skilled Acrobat, Difficulty raises by four. Difficulty: 6 Advantage: Equestrian
Animal Eight: A stricken companion stumbles toward you in shock. Select someone to lose their next actions. Fail roll and that victim also falls with a vicious wound. If the encounter features Bear, Difficulty increases by four. If the player character is not of trait Stout, a failed roll also results in his own character knocked unconscious by exhaustion as he attempts to move his impacted friend to safety. Regardless, the difficulty of all rolls in the continuing action are increased by two. Difficulty: 6 Advantage: Physician
Animal Seven: Free yourself from a pitfall, web, tangle of thorns, twisty hank of seaweed. If the encounter features Barracuda Fish, Difficulty increases by four. Fail and fall with a vicious wound. All other players must make this roll, but the Difficulty is lowered by three. Difficulty: 8 Advantage: Dashing
Animal Six: Empty your hands to clear a path to the enemy through the weeds, jungle, rocks, coral, seaweeds, etc. The action riles the maternal animal. Fail and fall with a vicious wound. If the player character is not a skilled Tradesman, difficulty increases by four. Difficulty: 7 Advantage: Cunning
Animal Five: Letís see if the animals can gnaw or sting their way through your caballero chest plate and chain mesh covered limbs. If the encounter features Alligators, Difficulty increases by four. Fail and fall with a vicious wound. Optional, increase Difficulty by five for the victory. Difficulty: 7 Advantage: Armorer
Animal Four: Step blindly right into the lurking animal. Fail and fall with a vicious wound. Even if you escape injury, all further Difficulty rolls by all players are raised by three. If the player character is not a skilled Brawler, difficulty increases by four. Difficulty: 6 Advantage: *Better Valor
Animal Three: Wait, is that gold and silver encrusting the trail or coral? Avoid the distraction of the shiny surfaces. If the encounter features Rattler, Difficulty increases by four. Fail and fall with a vicious wound. If this battle is won, each player collects a D8 times five hundred doubloons in treasure (level three and below check of Prizes). If the player is a skilled Goldsmith, Difficulty decreases by six. Difficulty: 11 Advantage: Merchant
Animal Two: Watching the enemy, you canít help but laugh at their cuteness and colorful epidermis (chitin). Fail to escape ruse and fall with a vicious wound. Difficulty: 8 Advantage: Hunter
Animal Ace: Creature appears to be resting or maneuvering. Bring it down, while you may. Success here and the animal encounter ends. Difficulty: 8 Advantage: Pistoleer

Magician: Ignore Ten, treat as Knave. If the encounter features Beetle, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
High Priestess: Ignore Two, treat as Ace. If the encounter features Mantis, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Empress: Ignore Three, treat as Ace. If the encounter features Spider, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Emperor: Ignore Nine, treat as Knave. If the encounter features Elephant, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Pope: Ignore Four, treat as Ace. If the encounter features Bison, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Lovers: Ignore Eight, treat as Knave. If the encounter features Caribou, Flagship suffers a trait loss.

Death: Ignore Five, treat as Knave. If the encounter features Lion, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Temperance: Ignore Eight, treat as Ace. If the encounter features Zebra, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Devil: Ignore Four, treat as Knave. If the encounter features Boar, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Tower of Destruction: Ignore Ace events, treat instead as Queen. If the encounter features Tiger, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Star: Ignore Nine, treat as Ace. If the encounter features Barracuda, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Moon: Ignore Three, treat as Knave. If the encounter features Alligators, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Sun: For what its worth, the animals are tasty? So load up the ship w/ a fine foodstuff. The animal eliminates Bad Trait VII. Starving, and also grants X. Prized Cargo. Now continue and see if anyone survives?

World: Ignore Ten, treat as Ace. If the encounter features Bear, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
Fool: Ignore King events, treat instead as Sea Snake. If the encounter features Rattler, Flagship suffers a trait loss.
