Canon doesn't sell printers...


They sell ink.

Canon and Epson (and XEROX?)generally sell the printer at a loss and count on ink for profit. This is why the ink carts have the chips that track ink and make it hard to refill or use third party ink. Presumably, Canon also can sell you OCR software?

I haven't OCR'd in YEARS. I have a Pro OCR software that isn't even installed on my current PC. I think I have a CD somewhere... Or it's on an archive drive.
