Taught three new players. They grok'd it. Well 2 of them did.
The third was enjoying the stealing and banditry of the whole thing. Grok'd in his own way I suppose.
I went easy on them to let them enjoy the dice rolling goodness. I got the Artifact which prevents others from stealing from me. I got my ships slower than everyone else. I only had one other artifact. I was slow walking the colonization path.
Then, I triggered my secret strategy. Roll triples three rolls in a row. It's a strategy as old as time and great when you can pull it off. I mean, when you roll triples, and you get free iron, you almost have to crush your opponent. What are the odds.
I strolled into the victory lap untouched. That is rare. But, triples three in a row is pretty solid.
We were so Rowdy, the Magic Tournament asked us to quiet down. Weak Sauce.
It is a fun game even when you lose.
Some Tree Game: Can't remember the name but the review that was quoted was "I love this game but I'll never play it again". So, why would you play it once if you had such a clear warning? We are doomed.
You make an orchard is ascending order and at the end, you bid for the right to score your particular style of tree. So the strategy is to prevent your opponent from scoring or something. Tied for 2nd and last.
We finished the night with Tiny Epic Galaxies. Strange combination and we were swimming in resources. We ran out of time. But, there was a desire to play it more.
When the dice want you to win, let them.
