The guy is describing writing exercises. Could be good if you need a reason to write or want to form a habit, but none of the five were games. Most mention a deck of cards as inspiration but then the only guide is how a straight-flush would be x or mere straight would be Y. Any idea how few five card flips are straights or royals? You can flip cards 300 times and not see a Straight (.3%). Half of all hands are random no-match folds. Oh, but spades are dark. Is this satire?
The solo play builds in the journaling of your own imagination. I don't need a seven dollar fourteen page booklet to tell me how to daydream or write in a diary. Those who do are not gaming.
This hobby at least once tried to write shit-can rules. Now they can't even bother to have game mechanics in their art books.
RPG has become a cult. Taste the rainbow.
