Message:The group finished the Demonic Ballroom and captured Anna, the Enchantress. She has fangs, by the way. We released a Hun warrior, Bârsiğ, held prisoner there. No one spoke Hunnic to find out why he was held. Maybe he was to be dinner. The Hun drew us a map to where to find treasure. Point in his favor. We managed to capture Anna, defeating many of her cultists along the way. Our quest completed when we returned to Isborsk.
However, Anna was pardoned and released. Our patron, Maksim, did not seem to notice the failure of justice. He was preoccupied accusing others of taking the Nepr stones. He’s rather insane. Maksim holds two Nepr stones. Not for long.
Anna told us that she was seeking the stones to return these to the Avar dwarves for safekeeping. The imps will return the stones to the insides of a statue, where they were held in check for a thousand years.
We encountered Alexander of the Curia Regis. The lord wants the stones collected and fashioned into a crown. People can worship the power, and the stones will balance each other. Our high Commander, Löfti, decided not to help the Emperor. If war begins in the wider Outlands, more work for us.
Our second mission was spearheaded by Bjorg, who accepted the task from Anna, freed after our return. Bjorg mitigated the loss of our ship stores from Famine. We are tasked by Anna to find the third Nepr stone, the Personal Stone, held by the pyrate king Miorska, in his base near Tmutarakan of the Black Sea. We also are to travel to Sinope, near there, to find a tome describing the stones.
Outlands campaign continues next week.
Losing Personality Flaws:
Besides the role-play opportunities presented to a player of a character that is a Drunkard, Gamester or Puritan, the Ref might like to impose some penalties. These should truly not take effect before Butsecarles (level four), except when the player decides to accept the Overkill Consequence and by doing so eventually rid himself forever of the flaw.
Yes, if the player will voluntarily handicap his character for a single adventure, start to finish, he can suffer the significant emotional event and heal himself of a Personality Flaw and the repeated mission penalties. So if the flaw says you do not gain Fury for Phase B, instead you can complete a mission start to finish and not use Fury to lose the Flaw entirely.
No more than one flaw can be obliterated each adventure; yet many unlike flaws could spawn from the tables and play. Gaining or losing a flaw is Growth below Butsecarles. Above that the player will need to do both, gain one and lose one, perhaps the same. Otherwise, Growth also happens when the character gains campaign roles and commitment.
Yours,
IronRed
