Message:Laura and I had intended on moving to Ireland in 2020, but...2020.
For those who don't know, Laura has a severe onion allergy. All airline meals contain onion and/or onion powder. 250 people open airline meals in the sealed tin can with recycled air and she's hiding in the bathroom, clutching her epipen, chewing benedryl like candy and hoping her throat doesn't close up to where she can't breathe.
We have four cats, one of which is 17, while another has life threatening cardiac issues (under control with his medication).
Flying isn't an option as a family unit*.
We've been waiting for Queen Mary II in Cunard's fleet - the only transatlantic liner with kennels - to 1) resume service and 2) have kennel slots open.
This morning at 6am tickets for a canceled world tour that became a New York-Southhampton run opened up. We called at 6:00:30... And spent over an hour on hold.
Well, as the title of the thread implies, we booked our kennels - we got the last ones available. After that, cabins were easy.
March 8, 2022 we depart.
If we hadn't gotten on this cruise, the next with open kennels were July, 2023.
*And if someone has to come back to close escrow on the house, it'll be me; the one who can fly safely.
Yours,
IronMike
