Something to consider ...
Message:(1) The "Adventure" doesn't need to be too complicated. The objective is to roll dice and laugh and other's terrible rolls.
(2) The 2 page rules by necessity needed to constantly return to the primary state (No shortage of O2 and with CC intact.) If you don't the game goes asymptotic very quickly ... meaning .... goes to dead quick.
That's okay, it makes the rolls predictable.
To add to the drama there should be an external measurement of the overall success. .... a "Doom Clock" of sorts .....
The Space Hulk we were salvaging could have been plunging into a Black Hole when the "Doom Clock" expires. This would drive the action. Instead of moving back to the 2nd section to reset our stats, we "might" have considered pushing on.
The state of the Doom Clock would have no impact on the existing mechanics ... just a gentle nudge.
The "Doom Clock" should be a built in mechanism for the game. Power Cell is exhausting. Oxygen can only be recycled so many times. Arrival of the Alien Death Armada. It doesn't really matter ... just something to choose between risky but quick and slow but sure.
Just something to consider.
