My kingdom for a stick ...
Message:
So, we crossed a district in the city, entered a smugglers underworld, and gamed for 2.5 hours.
But, we did not stumble upon a stout stick to become a torch (which had both utility and weaponry). We didn't even stumble on a weighty rock. How again did we not get this far without a proper walking stick?
Some would say an RPG character can be summed up to about 6-8 special things.
I have a flaming sword, my boots let me leap twice a day, when I hit someone and roll a 19+, the opponent is knocked back and away and my hat allows me to see see into my target's pockets..
Being able to do 100 things are too many to remember. Might as well be able to do anything.
If this is a "Gear" game, we should be able to start with an assortment of basic gear. Even in DnD you can start with a chicken.
As I suggested, of the 6 "aspects", perhaps 4 should be easy to get in "poor" quality.
No doubt, you'll end up with more "aspects" by the time the experment is done.
Yours,
