Message:Would you be surprised how much ancient craft wisdom can be found by performing as a pantomime horse?
We wandered about the labyrinth in the Bastille, to hunt for Jance Jay, Gimpo’s Aunt, and to recover the pyramid scrolls. Success at both.
Clan Chieftain Solitaire wants us to take a load of tar to the markets of Rain Edge. We tried to use the smuggler’s underworld passage to the outside but could not circumnavigate the city walls. We were thwarted by the legions in the south and Fire Cult in the north. We need to open Dough Gate, somehow.
Reverand Cee told us to find the pyramid scrolls. He also said that Janice Jay was a medium and may know how to bypass the Unbridled wall guards. We recovered Ms. Jay’s purse earlier. With this we gained rapport, and she gave us her amulet. She says it can defeat the Unbridled. This we have yet to test (for next week).
We had to visit 22 of 26 sites to guess the location of the Pyramid Scroll, only to find the scrolls were illegible and brittle. Using the magical help of the murals we managed to restore the scrolls for John Cee.
Took a combined 57 rolls! That is a bad method for a puzzle, in retrospect. I will adjust other parts of the adventures that simply force infinite rolls. Just change them to auto damage and auto object loss. That too might be gamed; those one silver penny utility objects would become so much cannon fodder.
Contemplate this on the tree of woe. Perhaps a dire fate result for failed roll at high DefMod.
Collected reward an XP along the trip and a second one went to (high die) Pax. A man who can get a lot of utility out of a fur tophat. While my feathered cap was truly only good as a place to store a writing quill.
More next week….Cross to Legion Ward past the almsgiving near Gift Wall? Go outside to Highpoint? Go into Rain Edge to negotiate Tar Sales, but do we truly know how?
Yours,
IronRed
