Wednesday Game Night .... First World Problems
Message:
Second visit to Wednesday game night. A few of the faces from the first night recognized me.
I pulled out Alien Frontiers, a personal favorite but 15 years old ... yikes!!!

It's a dice placement game and very smooth for about 5 rounds.
Then, it can suffer from analysis paralysis. You are rolling the dice as your "space ships" and then buying resources to land colonies on a alien planet.
One of the players had just such an issue. His dice rolls were amazing but ... at the end, we had to stop for him to reanalyze the complete board state.
Which would have been less of a problem had the store not been blasting the AC in the game room. We know our gamer buddies but it was an ice box.
In the end, he won when my dice failed me by a single pip. I was not particularly trying to win since I knew the game and was teaching it. Best to let new guys have a shot.
But, one pip more and I would have been dancing the "Suck it Noob" dance like the winner should.
Great game, even if you don't win. Two of them bought copies from Amazon to add to their collections.
Next time, bring jacket. And a timer.
We moved on to Flip 7 card game. Complete random nonsense. But, a sentemental favorite for one of the gamers. Not knowing how to play I won. I got more points or something. It will never repeat.
Good Night. Thanks Atlantis Game store for the great venue.
Yours,
IronConrad
