Red, it's less that she peaked early than chose a different career path. "Too Close for Comfort" made her a very good chunk of money - but her love was theater. She's done a guest role or two every year to keep her SAG/AFTRA insurance, and make another decent chunk of money. She didn't command a huge "star" rate, but she was making several multiples of scale. Her residuals and guest star roles got her health insurance and paid the bills.

Meaning she could afford to spend her time doing plays and teaching her acting workshops.

She was quite happy with the level of her career. Probably still is.

The Warriors and Too Close for Comfort give her two iconic roles for her generation and that's two more than most actors ever have.
