Instead of threatening the publisher, the authors should form a guild. They should go Marx and self publish (website membership the downloads), share collectively the earnings. Give all the members a better life. But the cash cow authors, the ones promoted by publishers to capitalize on series, stop all printing of chance titles, the authors that feel each is famous because he must be superior...those authors will always want to keep more and more of what each gets.

Fame = Talent seems a tough equation to deny.

Even legacy works, which should be in the public domain are held long past declining interest (for a hope of more, a longing for nostalgia). It's foolish and very human. AI will understand this. Give-in to the Borg.
