As usual - the book is better...
Message:*possibly vaguely spoilerific*
Taking a year's worth of comics and condensing it into a 75 minute movie always involves some compromises, but they really did Hush a disservice by removing the middleman and having the same rogue be the muscle and the mastermind.
The movie makes the ending with Catwoman much more tragic. In the books Hush kicked off a long term romance. The film decided not to go that way.
The comic story is widely considered to be among the best story arcs and is one that had rare lasting change, and illumination on the core mythos.
As a stand-alone animated film Batman: Hush is a pretty solid entry. As an adaptation, it's thematically close to opposite of the source material. That's a no-no.
