Message:I am old, a person enriched by my life. I was raised a certain way and my life has reinforced my reaction to certain things like stress and honor? That second word is a tough one, because I know it is no longer in fashion.
I watched some reaction videos for younger people seeing Full Metal Jacket for the first time:

There's a set of three which details the full Stanley Kubric set of scenes regarding the transformation of Pvt Pyle.
I will accept this is honest, not actors reacting to their own script.
The "kids" watching are both ignorant and weak(lings). This was depicting the Viet Nam draft recruits, the effort needed to make soldiers of citizens. It's kinda serious and shocking, sure. But it has a rational reason for why it was done. Eight weeks to transform a full company, a hundred diverse people of diverse backgrounds. Few to none wanting to be there.
Well, it's good the whole of warfare is becoming AI remote drones. If we ever had to draft these humans, few to none would be able to pass the eight weeks. Witnessing the pain to others is a necessary part of warfare.
Yours,
IronRed
