Clank!
Started with Clank!!! The Train Wreck edition. It wasn't called that officially but it was the latest version with all the add-ons. Big, Cumbersome, Finicky. Fun but too much.
We did learn to fight a dragon, go at it with noise makers and such. Get it as mad as you can. (One of the characters had a benefit from that.)
The rest of us tried to be hidden and got the shit ate out of us.
I still prefer the original.
The Gang!
Moved on to "The Gang" which is a neat offering from Kosmos.

Basically, Co-Op poker BUT you add a communication element with some chips. As cards are dealt, the game pauses for the players to evaluate their hands and communicate the value of their cards using the chips. My hand is good so I take a 5 chip. Yours is not so you take a 2 chip for example.
The objective is to get the chips in the right order after 4 rounds of communication
It was an interesting element for a game. Played better I would assume 4+
By the end, the "clever" players figured out how to measure our hands the same way as you would and it gets easier.
It does reveal who has the ability to understand simple instructions. As one guy pointed out, you measure the value of the cards for what they are RIGHT NOW, not what they COULD BE. Once you understand that, the game is much easier.
Not as good as "The Crew" but interesting.
Tiny Epic Galaxies
This is an old favorite. It's a simple game with a deck of cards and few dice. While there is a lot of random, smarter play is rewarded. Playing Time: 30-45 minutes.
We had an hour left so we communicated clearly to each other "Don't analyze this to death ... it's a dice game."
We did not finish of course.
Some people can't follow simple instructions. It's a gamer thing for sure.
Yours,
