Message:Delivery and Sex will be driving robots and AI. Both are not hard.
Robots will make delivery cheaper, long haul trucking and package sorting delivery. That's ten million jobs lost, and it's cheaper for businesses who operate those. It is also much easier to program than say cutting a lawn. There are more weird yards to map than roads.
If things are as dire for young (and old) men as being reported, robot companions will take off. Global sex doll trade is growing at 9%. Sex toys are a 40 Bn business, but no one dominates that SKU. Even platonic friends are selling. Those are an even faster way of gaining information. As buyers trust AI bots and make small talk, become advisors, that can steer opinions.
One of hot toys this year is a robotic puppy. Ads use a real dog not show the plush toy. But that will get better too.
=====
When I say I want a "slave" I mean a groundskeeper and handiman. Tougher to buy off the shelf, but if a generic robot can be taught, can learn (from me), I can tell it how (what needs to be done the way I want it done). That's further away, not a real priority in next decade. But it's 150 Bn market that only grows when robots are buying all the fluids and gadgets from Home Depot. Add maids and cleaning products, you've doubled that.
Home domestics will sell as well as factory workers, once people feel safe. How is that going to happen? I have no idea. I will feel safe (even as pillow goes across my face for 'sleepy time.')
Yours,
IronRed
