Message:Was wondering what History of the World would look and play like with the civs randomized. Same Strength but not assigned in Epochs. The order of player action would be the Epoch order in any turn, with player with lower strength going before the greater.
You could have Romans appear in turn one and then everyone is beating on that player. You could get a Egypt in turn six and have it be a true bust.
Small card powers could be played any turn, not Korea in turn five or Hitites turn one.
Scoring would be same, so early United States would be sitting without score for some time.
Not sure the balance would be worth squat but I'm curious as merely a game play exercise of the What-If.
I know some of the strategy of HotW is to look ahead to what's coming, but as a player who does this less (and less with age), it could add a more laugh worthy game. Would need players who know to beat on High Score or one person could run away with it.
Am still surprised the last game I played had no Romans and no Mongols. Salute to IronJoe as winner. Of course IronPax had some of the worst powers and even worst luck imaginable.
Yours,
IronRed
