I always thought Ruth was a lost god among the mortals. Blessed by the Heavens with a gift to throw thunderbolts and see the stars but unable to thrive. A star child of sorts.
Perhaps Ty Cobb was poorly emulating Yogi Berra with his home runs quote? It might have been more accurate to say he didn't know the trading card thing would be big?
