Man there was a lot of Perilous Clinging in this one. Ever 4 or 5 minutes, the dude was hanging out a plane or off a Rushkie sub.
The show had too many stunts in some ways. Run down the street and have to dodge falling safes and iron beams it seems.
But, it had all the essentials for spy thriller ...
Submarines check
Bi-Planes check
Seed Vault check
Nuclear Missiles check
Computer stuff check
Underground Labyrinth check
Exotic Island check
The humor was delivered with great tongue in cheek. The Donlevy plot point is interesting but unusual.
The story was too convoluted to follow ... oh well. And, with the addition of the Inuit Indian, it had the perfect diversity balance. No need for Cruise to enrage the Wokerati.
The tumbling submarine was a bit much but ... why not.
Of course, it will all turned out to be an illusion. As you recall, early on in the story, Cruise puts on a black mask and goes into a virtual reality pod. He's cautioned that it will change him. And, after he enters, he'll be playing in the Entity's Universe.
The repeat that phrase a few more times in the show so we all know that Cruise never left the pod. He just dreams he did. Once you see the Despair Squid, it changes you (IYKYK).
That way they can do more sequels.
Great fun. Watch it for free. It's a long one.
Yours,
