The arc of the third season was the downfall of a group of bad cops in the NYPD known as "HR". Which of course would make it the second worst group in the NYPD known as "HR". I kid. I kid.
Simmons was the primary villain in the third season and killed the female cop "Carter" (Taraji P. Henson) who was moving on. (She was the weakest in the cast but meets the current requirements for an actor ... mostly a Karen but unable to really ... you know ... act. The good news is she was so successful in these qualities, they wanted her to ruin OTHER shows. Win Win I guess.)
The show normally had interesting twists and turns but you can tell three episodes back, she's a dead woman walking. She got to give all the great speeches and do all the heroic stuff. Oh, so sad, Karen is gone.
The main character "John Doe" goes vigilante of course. That was a fun montage.
But, as he corners the Simmons, the bad guy, the rest of the group catches up and tries to talk him down. "Karen wouldn't want you to shoot this guy." Besides, the gun is empty.
Hey, you have to have a code. And, a spare clip.
Later, this scene occurs to give you a sense of the show: Elias gets a fun monolog. (The villain is allowed to off the other villain.)

Fun show but you have to be paying attention.
This was in the same episode. Fusco was the dirty cop that was redeemed by Carter (and John Doe). Before the big shoot out, Carter gives Fusco the key to the safety deposit box where all the damning evidence is stored.
Now, of course, you're saying, that must mean she hated him because she made him a target of course. And, so he was.
Bad guys beat him up and threaten his son. Kill them both the bad guy commands.

Shaw the sociopath killer played by Sara Shahi saves the son.
It's a good show. Interesting premise with the AI and all. Most of the characters are interesting.
