Message:Gregory Jarvis died in the Challenger accident forty years ago. Not an Obit, but a comment on bad luck.
Jarvis was initially scheduled to make his shuttle flight in April 1985, but he was replaced on that flight by U.S. senator Jake Garn. Jarvis' flight was rescheduled for early January 1986, but he was again replaced – this time by U.S. representative Bill Nelson.
The remains of the Challenger astronauts were discovered on the ocean floor. During salvage operations to recover the crew, Jarvis' body escaped from the wreckage, floated to the surface, and disappeared back into the sea. A few months later, his body was found washed ashore.
It show signs of inhuman gills having been added in a failed, alien operation. (I added that last bit.)
