Message:Classic Flip-Card Cutlass as pirates of the Mediterranean Sea. We reached the climax, passing three phases in play. We all need Conflict of Arms but will gain that by surviving the Twist of the mission, as a jilted lover of our Patron, Ricard, had her cuckold husband, Milano, send a company after us. Remind me to start next week with Brawling Fray. But I digress, not literally. No digressions, please.
Our Patron, Ricard, is a notorious criminal and honorary member of the Duke’s Horse Guards of Marseilles. He is having us raid a set of warehouses in Italy (Florence), ostensibly to punish Rival Maurice, a Jewish convert to Christianity. All sorted, but being level zero, we doth not refuse. We seem to be outlaws all (regardless).
Two deaths. IronPax rolled a poor character and from onset prayed for an end. Even as his character gained the first three Swaggering, he was melancholy. Only as he agreed to be content and continue would a second vicious end that topsy-turvy desire; he drew the Devil card and lost his life in the last boarding action of the session. Our prize was lost as well, Tower following. Now did IronSpain who was forced to go below decks die in that blast. He left five minutes before that card flip and that tends to plot armor a character. Respond in chat if he should live. I, Maurice, got away regardless.
IronSnake lost a character to honest play by his scoundrel. In a personal event he drown a man he disliked, who turned out to be the son of a much-beloved fisherman. That was not what did Bob in, he died trying to Repulse the enemy. I got Fame by traveling w/ the notorious outlaw Bob. Given a choice of all getting one card or draw until Ships Separate, IronSnake chose the harder of Ships Separate, only to die and leave us resolving the affair. IronDave was a dice-god-- several fifteens --being hero and winning last Ship Action. My dice were poor, throughout, but did get a Tenacious Pistol Fire and avoid pesky wounds.
The added Mission Challenges caused us to need SHIP I&R. IronDave convinced Luca, a lord of Venice to aid us (great roll on King encounter). We survived Encounters w/ penalty of all Queens inverted, but benefit that no Bane Jacks (in encounters). Was two Jack flips that moved us from Phase C to Endgame. Several events resolved as they occurred, but no one had the correct Traits to gain permanent I&R during those flips.
Was interesting but I miss someone salting the Chat, as my cut and paste skills are slow. I also nearly went hoarse trying to quick play five flips and actions at 2:25p trying to get to a good stop point.
More next week.
Yours,
IronRed
