Message:We continued Classic Flip-Card Cutlass as pirates of the Mediterranean Sea. We started with an exercise I call Goon Squad (not a Q&D). We went about the small group selecting Traits, Skills and Swaggering to try and recruit Servitors for the climax. We ended up w/ 42 and called them “Jolly’s Umlauts.” By the end of the session this number had been reduced to twelve. They were Obedient but also Starving. Prices in campaign increased.
We completed the first quest. IronRed (at risk) did not suffer loss. Our patron was a brute. Our one mistake last session, where we refused to leave our boat to run a shore raid during encounters, that cost us. Ricardo became our enemy. (Aftermath Major Tarot downgrade our result.)
The land force was claimed by IronConrad. Check ye Ignoble.
Our next mission had us recovering a sacred relic, a dagger, reputed to be used by St Paul for bloodletting cures. Our patron, Fredrico is a zealot but it did not seriously impact encounters, which went very quick with Ten, Six (some action), Pair Knights, some action in Phase C and Ten out. A few fights and diced skill rolls.
We completed our second climax with the ending as:
E – Future Threats or Secondary Events
To be resolved next week in Epilog.
Lots of Run&Gun flips, Anthony’s Bane. Some Brawling Fray, a Repulsing, and enough Brash acts to choke a prizefighter. My rolls were mixed.
All three players made level one. No deaths, no wounds, except to the Jolly.
Patron church Inquisitionist, Fredrico should be pleased. We recovered the Dagger of Bloodletting from our Rival Vitus, a Dervish Dancer. The Tunis Pyrates were no match, even with improved matchlocks that could fire in wind and rain. Our own guns were constantly out of ammo. IronConrad "English" drained six braces (like phasor packs). Many cards repeated.
There’s a Ship and Riches to be claimed for our success. IronRed also will receive a random Trait.
More next week.
Yours,
IronRed
