Fortunately, for my laziness...
Message:tRoll - a statistical tool for analyzing dice rolls in TTRPGs exists online.
It's got a bunch of built in rolls for varied games but also allows one to input varied rolls and view varied stats like the basic bell curve and chances of making roll X with die pool Y.
A 2d8 curve I can do in my head. 6d4... I can input that into tRoll and assign values from there. Example: whatever value on a 6d4 curve is closest to 4.7% success rate becomes "Limit."
Save myself from mathing. It's been decades since I took statistics and probability and my textbook is in storage and not available.
Speaking of laziness - "Do You Want to Know a Secret..?" no Beatles puns in this post.
Oh.
Crap.

Edit: Incidentally, a "Limit" roll on 6d4 is 20, with 4.9% success. A 21 drops to 2.1% success.
Tasking would be 18 (15.6% on 2d8, 18.5% on 6d4, cuz a 19 would be 10.2%)
Difficult becomes... Probably a 17 (33% on 2d8 vs 30% on 6d4, but a 16 on 6d4 would be 44%).
Basic becomes 15 (56% on 2d8 vs 57% on 6d4)
So, yeah, that's done.
Yours,
IronMike
