In con play at Athventurecon I've even seen players debate over if someone should use a make roll or save the one-per-encounter for something critical. Ah my heart grew full when a new Cutlass player used the Make Roll to gain the Swaggering Technique. (I'm nice. I let the con made new PCs choose Papist/Reformist on generation and then ask if they attend services with the ship's Vicar. If they do and match the Vicar's chosen Faith then they get the lvl 0 make roll.)

The Battle Born players figured out quickly that you let the person doing whole team Star Point have the Make Roll.
