First look -- Hitchhikers Guide is funny. Lots of good things that delight as they occur. But once the jokes are heard, does it really need a second viewing? Remakes have been terrible. Lightning only strikes once. It's an intelligence test. Lacking sight gags and pratfalls and anything with star power.

I can name dozens of funny movie, which I can watch again and again. Hitchhiker's Guide is not one of them. Red Dwarf and Galaxy Quest makes me laugh. Douglass Adams makes me groan and chuckle.

If it was made with Monty Python actors and their improv silliness, maybe. I can picture that Deep Thought scene with Palin and Idle, voice of machine by Cleese or Chapman; AI make that epic version.
