I rather enjoyed the prose ....

There was something comforting about the gentle delivery with the absurdity.
Almost poetic. Not Vogan poetic but poetic none the less.
Google would say:
"Le mot juste" is a French phrase adopted into English meaning "the exact, appropriate, or perfect word" for a given context.
Last weekend, the gamers pulled out a copy of "Things in Rings" ...

It is the style of game, I don't care for. And, to be sure, I had no clue what the "Knower" knew or his logic. No clue whatsoever.
But, I won .... because my brain put the collection of words together and told me the answer. Not "told told" me ... Just those words fit together. Some primal understanding of why they were chosen together. Something we all learned on the Kalahari clad in scraped fur and clutching a dry bone .... but now something we no longer explicitly remember.
Sometimes so stupid that they make no sense but then ... well of course it would be a towel ... how could it be anything else?
Still a dumb game but amazing (or great coincidence) that I crushed the words.
Yours,
IronConrad
