Message:I liked the game for humans, the spellcraft, the expanse.
Saw something about Asheron's Call being given to a University to teach (two decades ago). Original server escaped to real world (shortly after). You can find such and such on Hidden Web. But this video implied TURBINE was giving the program away as shareware.
If this is the second ed. game, no thanks.
What I was hoping for was my own version of Asheron's Call where I could add the events and change the XP award. Most PC games mod rather easily. Currently playing a game, RimWorld, where I juiced the XP and travel speeds, so I can see the high end game without a thousand hours of play. I will still play a thousand hours, but it will be in endgame combat. It's crazy the toons that massive attack when you got a dozen guys w/ laser rifles and fifty auto-cannons on the line.
Modding? Above my ability to do so from scratch, but I can use the same tools the devs used to build the thing, design the quests, add items, and alike.
Why for Asheron's Call? Mostly nostalgia, curiosity. IronJohn, IronSquires, IronTony all played. IronChuck mapped many dungeons (for low level). The experience never needed to go above level thirty. Nerf the monsters, shadows and bugs, bring back ability to run away, stop progressing someplace after you max every stat and action at 150? Just spitballing.
Will AI be able to create Asheron's Call level graphics and MMO experince with prompts? Cross fingers.
Yours,
IronRed
