Message:Our company, the Jolly Umlauts, are at 69 strong; the seventeen missing recovered and more added. IronConrad found a minion, the Frog, to protect him.
We reached the climax with a plus three modifier, Q&D Swaggering in Court.
One man approaches a fortress city on Sardinia. He gets all his allies in safely as he runs distractions, ploys. He then seeks his own entrance, only to be trapped in a cell and later escape. Gunfire, distant. IronPax (of all folks) survived a half dozen cards of swaggering and avoiding his own death.
We reached the enemy ship, plans to take the craft. With a day where we thought we had defeated the enemy, slain his commander on the deck of his ship. We all individually obtained our own results of Traverse Deck. Three by entering the hold and two more swinging on yards from main to mizzen. One straight across, brazenly. Our victory short-lived as a garrison emerged on deck (secondary threat) and we fought Assault, Carnage and Mop-Up. But the tale is not simple swordplay.
One man stepped into the breach. He took over all action. The rest of us were ordered to wait atop (standing on boxes). As if a set of noose around our necks. Our fates were in his hands. IronDave would receive all non-Bane, regular cards. He told his own vessel, the Sea Dagger, our escape, to sail off, return later. He then lit the lower deck on fire, I assume an accident. Maybe not. No Advantage might be used twice, the horror. Plenty of Majors flipped. (Great dice all day for IronDave.) A second man, perhaps disobeyed orders, tried to go below to help. He slugged a man (IronSnake), but that was just IronDave tugging the man back to the light. (I was laughing, hard at the card flips of the tale order.)
The battle was won as the enemy, by the end, called for sanity and we could make our escapes. The treasure slowly sinking, lost. But victory on our objectives.
We got the Moneylender, Alfonse, to Sardinia under the disguise as the Major of the Horse guards. Success! That Moneylender is now w/ Kingdom of Aragon. IronRed has a mortal enemy of Ricard. He or I will face-off, to the death.
Mission seven starts next week.
Yours,
IronRed
