Stargate Atlantis .... Couldn't get through it ...

I got through Season 1 of 5 by letting it run in the background.

As a fan of Stargate, it seemed like it could be something.

But, it really was Stargate United Nations.

They started the show with not one but two girl bosses .... for reasons. Manager Karen Boss and Savage Karen Boss.

The pretty boy hero gets whupped by both of them handily.

The started with the dude from Terminator (Robert Patrick) and whacked him in the first episode.

The Scientist / Engineer character is a cowardly obnoxious fop.

The big villain is a cartoony cannibal klingon with bad prosthetics and no functioning civilization.

The dialog is that slow, tedious Next Gen twaddle.

I gave up as they were bringing in Aquaman (Jason Momoa). It appeared they were making changes to the characters to make them more palatable.

Some of the episodes had a whiff of an interesting idea but ... they couldn't execute.

The show was cancelled after 5 seasons so "they wouldn't take the excitement from the movies" which they didn't make.

They just put them on the spaceship with phone sanitizers and told them everyone else would catch up on the next two ships.

If you wonder why no one laments it's passing like "Fire Fly" or "Star Trek", wonder no more.
