Message:No fight for Jolly Umlauts, rare. We did recruit Robert’s Marines for our next mission w/ DefMod-1.
A flip in Epilog and we are back.
New Quest: Organize a ship. Many make-rolls used to prevent serious penalties. IronPax burned three before the first encounter. Our wreck in drydock needs cannon, sail cloth and tinned beef. Our patron is a suicidal tradesman with no fugs left to care to continue. His master is jailed.
IronPax refused the quest and IronConrad stepped up and took the role. Off we go, x3 Phases in a Port of Intrigue (all want us dead and gone). The vessel is not sanctioned by the crown and not blessed by our Pope. The folly to sail west to reach the east. That’s for a later quest to decide (if New World is found). Our task is just get cannon, cloth and beef.
First we had to rescue the navigator, Del Cano, from prison. Hard rolls and two wounds. IronRed caught consumption and suffered vicious from sickness. We have three players not checking Ignobles (opt out to avoid double vicious death).
Three new Flaws: IronDave Hunted & Obedient to Clergy. IronConrad constantly boasting his plans. IronRed a fool for love w/ too many children; none of them his. The guys said they always knew and didn’t want to hurt my feelings. The shame I live with.
We all captured our own sections of a barge to gain the gunpowder. We acquired much of what we need to reach the climax. Moving from Phase B to C back to B has helped.
We marched into southern France and stole cloth. We had to make five rolls (one each) to thwart a Man of Wealth and Power. Fail and your roll must be made by another. This turned out to be easy (kind cards).
Continue Phase B (second time) next week. More later.
Yours,
IronRed
