Message:I truly don't understand, and maybe its unions (which I love). Why isn't there a single master class video set of courses that all students watch? Then add chat proctors or one on one tutors to explain for the confused. Public Access TV no longer works? Why do we need fifty thousand different in-class and online explanations for number lines and the basics of a hydrogen atom. Can't we get kids to watch Ted Talks or Bible readings online from a single source?
If we knew schools were fugged by paranoia the last six months, why didn't we create a national curriculum. Hell, Lincoln was self-taught at a library. This obsession to keep everyone employed over Zoom is more crazy than all the isolation.
If I could self-study in my HS I would have graduated and tested for GED in one year. Take next three off to be a hooligan. That was once what schools were for -- to keep kids out of the prisons and the labor force for a longer period of time. School now online trains a kid for what job or what career? Anyone still have latchkey kids or are they institutionalized at puberty now.
Vaccine!?! Put all life on hold until we have Science deus ex machina. Sweden did things correctly, and we should take that lesson learned and call the statehouse concerts and get everyone diseased and herd immune.
But sure, pajamas? Your friend may be living with his daughters till he marries them off. Welcome to 1896 again. Or the failed Biodome.
Yours,
