As Red pointed out, the Nerz and Soyn are inter-related. The Nerz eat the Soyn and their poop fertilizes the Soyn eggs.

If you destroy one, you destroy the other. Could you interrupt the cycle? And break the dramatic rule? Likely not. Just a thing to observe.

The Nerz cycle goes up and down as the eggs hatch, evolve, grow, etc. The followers knew the calendar and let the worthy through at the right time. (Meaning, once they get paid.)

You did not destroy the cycle by destroying the eggs but you did change the cycle. It was shown at the top of the page ... the cycle will eventually re-stabilize and the worthy will be able to use the Soyn services.
