Message:I didn't get a chance to watch Superman (much). B&W meant it was not in wide syndication like Spider-Man cartoon. Real life also ate up the lives of the actors involved in Superman TV. There was much drinking on the set (in 1950s). Got to say there was much drinking on the stages even in 1990s.
I digress -- Hollywood, the weird job where nothing normal applies. They can even discriminate based on anything, not right color, religion, nose shape, weight...anything can get you tossed off set. Except drinking. Then you had a chance for rehab if you pass out. So long as you can stand and hit record (in my world experiences) you were fit to work not ready for rehab (union forty days paid sick).
Don't miss it, studios. Still healing the anger issues. Yet my first Xmas party I was told to not have more than two drinks, since I was on the clock as a night tech. The stages were dark. I told the boss tech I was not planning on having any; I had some maint. work to do. I was newly hired and trying to impress. He said, "live a little and find someplace (among the six stages) you can sleep out of sight." There were many. Not a healthy place for anyone to work, Hollywood. But what humans do for fame or proximity to fame, unworldly like Superman.
Yours,
IronRed
