The players convinced Sulla to block the Straits of the Dardanelles to Syrian merchants. The Syrian army attacked and was driven back by the knights of Nicaea and the capital. Only one force of Levy, of Adrianople, was crushed on the field.

The transit to the Black Sea blocked, the problem remains that merchant ships can still be built in Sinope and crewed by Syrians. A second set of encounters was run to move the players to part two of the climax. Nice ship to ship at the end, a tough table.
