Poor Valhalla... Stuck with a tone-deaf wanna-be Bard-bear.
Message:Since Bjorn's final Ignoble was Growth to take Minstrel (and didn't level up to take the skill), he's loudly singing "Oh, I would row 500 miles..." but off-key.
During the nightly battles the other warriors now aim for his throat, but to no avail... For, come dawn, all wounds are healed the drinking (and singing) begin anew...
"When I wake up, well I know I'm gonna be,
I'm gonna be the bear who wakes up next to you
When I say-il, yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear who sails along with you
When I get drunk, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear who gets drunk next to you
And when I battle, hey I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear who's battling with you.
And I would row 500 miles
And I would row 500 more
Just to be the bear who rows a thousand miles
To batter down your door!
When I'm raiding, yes I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's raiding hard for you
And when the treasure, comes in for the raiding that I do
I'll pass almost every silver on to you
When I come home(When I come home), well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear who comes back home to you
And when I grow old, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear who's growing old with you
And I would row 500 miles
And I would row 500 more
Just to be the bear who rows a thousand miles
To batter down your door!
When I'm lonely, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear who's lonely without you
When having visions, well I know I'm gonna see
I'm gonna see the valkryie carrying off you
When in Valhalla, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear in Valhalla with you.
And when Ragnarok comes (When Ragnarok comes), yes I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the bear who dies along with you
I'm gonna be the bear who dies with you
And I would row 500 miles
And I would row 500 more
Just to be the bear who rows a thousand miles
To batter down your door!
Dah-dah-dah! (dah-dah-dah!)
Dah-dah-dah! (dah-dah-dah!)
Da Da Da Dun Diddle Un Diddle Un Diddle Uh Da Da...
... etc"
No one took Bard's Tale for watching Bjorn ascend. His legend will be forgotten (as with all men, in time).
Worse, his sword and horse are in the position of his cousin - a shifty little man who is more a man of books than battle, and a man who is a priest of Fenrir, also called Fenris.
Anyone with Occult Scholar doesn't even need to roll to realize that's not generally a good thing.
Good session. Looking forward to next week, when, hopefully we get another clue to "Tom's" name. My list of single syllable words with two "L's" is getting unwieldy.
Yours,
IronMike
