Message:In a couple weeks we'll run a Betatest of the game mechanics for Demon Hunters 1960s. My revenge on Tasha will be swift. Kidding. But expect the Norse Gods. Or not?!? Mike, I expect you the channel Jim Morrison for the YouTube vid.
Demons Don’t Surf, an Introduction
Your patron, Earle Wheeler, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, explains your task in a voice recording. There was no courier. Each day you head into Bo Ro garden and watch the last colonial Frenchies play Bocci Balls. Bo Ro is short for jardin des beaux jeux, meaning garden of elegant games. Most days you visit for an hour and then leave empty handed. This day one of the benches has a chalk X, common Spycraft. Under that bench is the package.
“Code 943.” That verifies this day and hour for authenticity. “Hunters, travel to the prisoner‐of‐war camp at Cantho in the Mekong Delta. There collect a prisoner, Trường Chinh.” Any VC of the group knows he’s a professor from North Viet Nam. “Take him via the Rail Corridor to the Central Highlands and there await further instructions at Da Nang forward Air Base.” The recording will acid self-destruct in seven seconds. An ARVN staff officer of the party starts to hand the object to one of the French players but then smiles and throws it into an ash can for cigars. A toothless mom-masan will claim the fused object later as scrap.
As you head out, your training lets you notice an assassination team: Boris Ivan, a man whose name couldn’t be any more cliché if it was Vodka Borscht. The squad has dealt with him before. Not well enough, so it seems. Choice to stop the murder or just avoid the firefight and head out?
Yours,
IronRed
