It is a shame ... computers could actually make the world a better place
Message:... but ... the wrong people have managed to get in charge.
A wise man I met by chance back in the 1980's commented that computers even then had not solved any of the problems of the human condition. Forty years later, that still rings true.
Why do people starve in one place and others throw away food in tremendous quantities?
Why is information so unreliable?
How in the world do we run out of toilet paper?
Why does that damn peasant in AOE not just move over to the other trees?
Why don't I have a Tantalus field yet? And, when do I get my agonizer?
The ransomware could be stopped tomorrow if the powers that be wanted it to be. Why does my email need to be able to do those things? Has anyone used their email to turn on their sprinklers? What they hell is your malfunction people?
Your email shouldn't say ... Hey, can I run this thing on your computer that will do to you what SuperJonny does to his little friend? It should just say .... "No". If you want to run that program, do it the right way.
Why doesn't one company simply make an email program that doesn't do that even if you asked. Grandpa don't need to be able to do that. He really doesn't.
Why do some people insist on version 666 of Dorks and Dummies when there is perfectly good $2 Zen Two Page RPG available now? Get with the program people.
Less = More Funz.
PS: And, really just between us two kidders ... do you really think a blue paper mask made in China is going to save you from anything? Really? You aren't questioning at least that? Enjoy your new hyper ribbon .... it's what a body needs.
Yours,
IronConrad
