Message:This includes making friends and enemies, advancing politically or economically, attending social engagements, displaying or earning the comradeship and loyalty of agents, and having strong moral or environmental convictions. The purpose of this Ignoble is to emphasize that the most important high-level characters of the galaxy live in the Tetra-League with genuine ties to family, friends, systems and cartels.
Player characters tend to be aloof in regard to the mundane, the daily stock exchange. But without anything meaningful in their lives, they become thoughtless. At the highest levels, the character must not simply become powerful; he must have the clout and connections to use this power over a galactic distance.
The character might change personality or professional goals. Should the character acquire or lose a Command Proxy, he had made friends or enemies. If he adds Negative Traits he’s growing in mania. Is he now more noble and defends his shipmates or more aloof and single-minded to his own goals? Evolve your role and check an Ignoble. Call it career advancement if you desire. Or career suicide by leaving the familiar behind for a new horizon of values.
Here's some examples:
* Gain first Proxy.
* Gain first Enemy or Friend.
* Gain connection to an historic NPC.
* Dedicate self to a profession (low level pledge to take skill).
* Hatred of a faction, typically then hunted.
* Alliance with a faction that adds ulterior motives and creates a handler.
* Lose first swagger (low level).
* Gain or lose a Trait.
* Lose first skill, even voluntarily drop an ability. Must have a motive that applies going-forward. Needs some regret for taking it in the first place and zealous stance that others should also give-up the ability.
* Accept position in Command, DOC, Spec, Tech-ninja or Advisor, an enforcer for MACE internal affairs.
* Live and die by a code.
* Strive to promote to a better squad, G/Sol or S&R Group, this would be a retirement goal.
* Prejudice and hatred broad stroke; to an enemy of league, cartel or another MACE unit. Must manifest w/ refusal to retreat or with reckless acts.
* Gain any Insanity Trait.
* Become despised by tin-heads or the crowned Bombacito, unusual in Battle Born.
Self-imposed penalties or restrictions. e.g. Minus one vs Verdigris (fear) or utilize no Tin-Head swagger in action with Freebooters, paranoia.
* Create a goal and resolve for the check. Goals may be short or long term but mostly involve secondary outcomes or objectives. Restrain from death to win, this is not revenge. Favor politics.
