Message:We went to capture the wizard Arkutu, only to find he escaped by teleportation to the Swamps of Laaya, guarded by Hlutrgu. He left behind Silent Leapers to slay us, unsuccessfully.
Arkutu bribed or charmed the city counsel of Jakalla to outlaw various nonhuman tribes. That corruption was exposed and corrected. Peace is made with the Pachi Lei.
We rolled Reinforcement and had good and bad luck. Our cohort set out complete. We took the route of seas and had to sub-in for the patrol ship that was defeated by pyrates. All is Cutlass, indeed. We also were stymied by the temples and influence of the Terrible Gods (twice).
We arrived in the swamps and set about finding a path to Arkutu’s Inner Sanctum. We were flooded down rapids, attacked by Kayi, insulted by Heathen Priests, fought a mountain escarpment of swamp snakes, before reaching a series of Indy-Style Trapped Caves. There we found not the rival but his magic book.
