Funny thing about the tables and the deck...
Message:Sometimes they never end, sometimes they end right away.
As I nerd out on my indulgent narratives, I do mark down every card flip in the game. The battle that ended the night? 18 cards. 11 banes. 3 Majors. The deck just wasn't with us. We literally never had a chance.
If we want to argue the rules for the Outmatched tables, I'm thinking three rounds to defeat # of PCs +1/2d8 is way too high a threat level. Given of the 56 minors, statistically half will be Banes, and, of the Majors, only one of them is direct help in getting off the table (raise "Panic Clock" to 10). Otherwise, a couple of the Majors have some helpful effects - gain a Trait, gain a Skill - but more of them cause loss of skill, loss of traits, or side trips to a round of a different combat table.
If Red wasn't taking overflow wounds from the ship and marines this week, we'd have lost most of the party. I think Tasha might be the only unwounded character left.
