I always looked at maps and saw this empty place and kind of thought it was a mistake. Thing is even 1500m above sea level. Why does this exist? It gets snow melt. It's crossed by a river like the Nile? This has to be a radioactive meteor strike. But no, just a empty spot for four and half million years. Mountains around it are too high. Maybe if we used the nukes to blow away the ranges, used the debris to cover the sand, we'd have a garden spot.
Strange place of nothing.
