Message:Pessimistic going forward but will watch.
Series has a serious tone and little to no comic relief. Fights involving elf lacks gravitas, too comic hero in staging.
Always hate the dwarf subplots so nothing can save that. Others are okay. Hobbit subplot (Harefoot) may be the best. Wish the series was all them halflings before they find a home and only tangents into elves and humans. But those two are not terrible. Not Terrible, the gold standard for fantasy and comic book. Sad.
Now can they truly add a twist and the mysterious stranger be Saruman or Radagast and not the more obvious tall hat.
Would have also been nice if Elron had used some wisdom, hunted the rocks for a vein to crack, rather than pound with hammer. But as I said, dwarf plots as a whole society of Scotish engineers are always stupid on toast. Remind me of kindhearted Klingons.
Also seems strange that an immortal race of elves has various degrees of aging in the faces of the actors. Would have been gloriously cool to have all the elves played by kids. But real actor kids do age fast, so CGI.
Evil seems hard to fight which is a welcomed for tension. Just not when elf does a ballet move for coup de gras. Fire the fricken' bow into an eye socket would work, and look better than a sword trampoline vault into lunge. I close my eyes and shake my head.
