We defeated the Toad Lord in his haunted garden. Paxton made the killing blow! That bears repeating, Paxton slew the demon. By the end there were nine Evil Flairs that prevented us from gaining about half the Tactical Advantages and forcing our Agility rolls to be made at a penalty.
The Fae awarded us with acorns at the triumph. (We had lost all chance for loot by yet another Evil Flair.)
We shall return again someday to Tactical OSR, though the Refs of our group do enjoy the options presented by Outlands. Interesting, the Q&D which force various combat events seem to create more variety than the "I will kill this token play" of OSR.
Others may never learn that wisdom.
Back to Demon Hunter Cyberpunk next week and then by November an Outlands fantasy campaign, one with lots of whimsy and cloud ships, giants the feet the size of villages and nonhuman whose laugh inflicts pain.
