Our seniors have been saying that to us for all of history and for equally as long, our children have not heeded the good advice. Achilles, wear your good slippers or the arrow in the heel will be the death of you.
You can say these things as many times as you like but it takes life to learn them. When you get burned enough, wisdom lets you learn from past mistakes. Your head is made of bone so that the first 1,000 times you bonk it probably won't kill you. At some point, you realize closing the cabinet door isn't has hard as you thought.
Why would software be different? Same idiots writing it. Same idiots buying it.
