Message:“Sometimes nothing is a real cool hand.”
We completed two missions back-to-back today. Löfti led us on the first, taking us to Beloozero. There we recovered the Longboat Stone, after a hunt around the Lord Compound; we avoided subcommander battle. Actually, very few battles this session, two instead of typical five. That stone remains a cursed object. Our guard (soak-off) Elmer went rogue and had to be chained. He later was released, actually sold, gone from the vessel. The ThetaZaire promises to provide a replacement agent. Given the chance to roll poorly to avoid a wound (a weird aspect of Q&D Escape), Fullmoon kept himself alive. Working to his strength of rolling low twice even with Tactics and Fury Pips.
Fierar was demoted from the elite ranks, after he accidentally poisoned the crew. His skill as a provisioner was nonexistent, so he returned to his role as headman of the rowers.
Mumbles took over as commander and decided we could not move, too dangerous, with four stones. A decision was made to take the Stones to Constantinople and leave them in the care of the Curia Regis. Miorska the Lich skull was also left inside the tomb of the Lord of Bronze. Short dungeon crawl there using Q&D Opportunistic Motives – Gaining Info, Items or Allies. A lesson in do not touch what is not important to the objective. A proper secret spot was found without disturbing the other monsters. The granary structure is encased in a mountain is a perfect home-jail for the items. That was the second fulfilled quest, as we navigated past the dangers of Kiev and reached the second climax.
Helps to be Phase A and flip an Ace (twice this session). We continue with the Epilog next week. Ahead of us is the search for the last stone, the Wizardry stone. We go back to research the item in Sebastea. We have done a good job balancing the four factions, but all now grow suspicious of our ultimate goal.
We continue again on Jan 15th.
Yours,
IronRed
