Message:Under the authority of the Curia Regis we headed to Sebastea. The Book of the Stones has a unique property. It not only tells the legend of the Stones, it updates constantly on the ownership and location. We shall use the book to find where the Wizardry Stone is located.
Where last week we burned through two missions, here we barely got out of Phase A, before falling back. We stopped the session in Phase B with the modifier of no campaign events. We had two fights within our ship. Edward of Kiev came aboard representing the ThetaZaire, but he proved to be disloyal (like Elmer). He was slain as he led an attack that wounded three of five player characters. (Our first Alt role appeared for short time.)
A simple table became an epic event as we flipped (must have been thirty cards) looking for King, Queen and Knight with all cards modded to be Fail for vicious. This made several events vicious-vicious in outcome. Fierar risked death on one such event. Using make-roll would have stopped another player’s check of battle. I deny I felt any adrenaline for attempting rolling. Even as I failed the first nine and needed my second attempt to succeed.
Two members of the group became marked with demon scars, self-inflicted. Fierar has an image of monsters exercising carnal attacks, and the other on Löfti of the void created by worship of oblivion. Cool.
The crew wanted nothing to do with demons. They called for Fullmoon to be restored to Hierophant. First a debate (Q&D Opportunistic Motives), and the decision was made to reinstate the man to that post. Leo was demoted and lost command. Bjorg holds authority by thread.
Two players made level seven and mine progressed to level six. Bjorg and Löfti advanced to five. Bjorg was found to be Foolish. Fierar and Bjorg joined the other three PCs as Demigods.
A curious event. Löfti was missing while just a moment before he was fighting with us. He traveled to Belroozero and rallied the levy there to start building revetments and catapults. The coming tide of ice-folk is starting.
We have yet to obtain the fifth stone, use that set of five to restore the Emperor-king to throne, convince(trick) the Avar dwarf to fashion a gauntlet, use that gauntlet to defeat the Ice Mordant and then destroy the stones for all eternity.
There is mixed emotions on whether any and all of that is possible or truly our desires. Löfti, Bjorg and Fierar are leaning to destroying the stones and let other forces face the coming ice tide. Fear spreads that Fullmoon wants to keep the stones and be Emperor himself, Miorska just a sycophant. Mumbles has yet to declare a side.
We continue again on Jan 22th.
