The players expect magic items but instead of showering the group with junk, the Environmental Enclosure has a plethora of unknown assets. Magic Items are not so much picked-up off the floor. Instead, the magic bonus of the game arrives when a player character finds a trick about his Suit. That power armor was designed to be dangerous. Even more so when the trooper inside is bored and starts looking for mods. You can discover much as an immortal, provided you are not shot to snot along the way. Or especially because you’re bounced about in battle.
But as with all free-style play, duplicates propagated about the group are discouraged. A character might discover he has a talent, a gift, a magic item. But he’d be hard-pressed to teach his buddy how to do the same. First off, each suit was built different and with different code. They are truly a mess. Just the models month to month and upgrades year to year depending upon depot, cause each player character to be wearing a white elephant. Or maybe his own great white. Animal analogies seem to limp here. Maybe just say find what you can. Which reminds me of the motto of the cannery association: Eat what you can and what you can’t you can. The whole would be absurdist, if the situation (of play) was so damn real.
How’d you do that? I’ve given up trying to show you! (+1 Jarhead)
