Message:Lucy space probe was launched October 2021; with a boost from Earth's gravity in 2022, it will complete a 12-year journey to visit eight different asteroids of Jupitor's Trojans.
Is there no oversight at NASA? If the agency discovered in 2010 that there were stable asteroids in the same orbit as Earth and Venus, why not go and visit them. Instead, twelve years of people paid to mind a ping console, as the probe flies a gagillion miles more into deep space to study dead things far away. When it could within that year (easily) flyby the near to earth asteroids and give them a proper look.
Boggle the mind our priorities.
