Message:Tribes of Midgard seemed inane. Collecting sticks to make a bed and so forth. It works fine and is better than many of these build a camp survival sim/Dungeon Siege style kill all monsters level of play motivation. Just found the action fell flat. Make sharp stone pick strike meteor for iron flakes. My knowledge of chemistry makes me wince. Even making the cot out of sticks seems an invitation to parasites. I'm not allowed to grill stake until I upgrade my cook firepit? Yes, grammar school understanding of reality and no true roleplay after selecting a skin color.
Black Book is a nice storytelling experience combined with build a deck spell combat. Learn the mythos as you play is welcome. Though there are many tabs I have yet to use and I wonder as a wargamer why certain options are there. Who would have thought a Russian developer could do anything but scam grandma out of her credit card numbers!

As table top and PC games move to card-deck building being the norm, I wonder how Wizards could have dropped the ball and never made a game that integrated the cards of Magic with some form of storytelling game. If there is one that I never heard of, then it obviously wasn't well designed. With all the advantages that company wielded, it seemed content to be a one-trick pony. Let's make even more cards with no regard to balance or entertaining twist. More there=confusing mess for the impulsive buyers.
